This is a unique custom-built HOn3 scale brass locomotive. It's a Balboa model imported in the 1960s and built by Katsumi in Japan. The original box shows very little wear and comes with foam and paperwork. The locomotive runs well with a can motor upgrade, though it's a bit light in weight. The locomotive is original, but the tender is from an FED 2-6-0. There are added details all over, like a new pilot and coupler on the locomotive. Note that two rear brake shoes are loose but are included. It's a C-6 Very Good condition item with minimal wheel wear. It has moderate motor/gearbox noise (6 out of 10). There's no backhead detail or lighting. It features Kadee couplers on both the engine and tender. It's custom painted for the Private Road SG&S #5 with a great paint job. It's controlled by analog - DC only. Free domestic USA shipping for purchases over $199! Flat shipping rates are based on item value or weight. Using this locomotive is easy. Just connect it to an analog DC power source and it will start running. Since it has a can motor upgrade, it should perform well. When handling it, be careful as the two rear brake shoes are loose. You might want to secure them if they bother you during operation. For maintenance, keep it clean. Wipe off any dust regularly. Check the wheels and couplers from time to time to make sure they're in good condition. Store it in the original box with the foam for protection when not in use. If you're shipping it back for a return, follow our packing instructions to avoid any damage during transit.
