In 1977, Sunset Models imported this model built in Korea by Samhongsa. The box has minimal shelf wear with very light scuffing in the corners. There are no spare parts. It comes with figures in the cab and a coal load in the bunker. It was recently serviced, with the old gearbox grease cleaned out and replaced. These locomotives were the largest Pacific - type engines on the New York Central system and were used throughout. As trains got longer and heavier, the J1 4 - 6 - 4 displaced them on passenger runs.

Using this HO scale brass locomotive model is a breeze. Just connect it to an analog DC power source and watch it run on your model train track. Since it has no lighting, you won't have to worry about electrical wiring for that.
When handling the model, be gentle. The brass material is fragile, so avoid dropping or applying too much force. Also, be careful around the couplers, as they can be delicate.
For maintenance, it's a good idea to check the wheels regularly for any signs of wear. You can clean the wheels gently with a soft cloth to keep them in good condition. If you notice any increase in noise from the motor or gearbox, it might be time to have it serviced like it was recently. Keep the model in its original box and foam when not in use to protect it from dust and damage. And remember, if you have any questions or run into any issues, don't hesitate to contact us.
