This is an amazing HO scale brass model scratch-built by Joe G. Collias into a Missouri Pacific 2-10-2 locomotive, numbered 1718. The relabeled PFM United box shows just a bit of shelf wear, and there's a note from Joe Collias on the lid. There are no spare parts included. The chassis and mechanism seem to be from a Balboa Southern Pacific 2-10-2 but have been modified. The boiler might have a similar origin but has been heavily customized and detailed. The Katsumi running gear operates smoothly. The tender could be scratch-built or have roots in other MP models. It features unique 'dog house' details not found on factory-built models.
