This is a 1957 run PFM - United imported model train built in Japan. It's part of the crown series, with only 157 built. The original box shows significant shelf wear, as you can see in the photos. The paintwork is excellent with very little wear. The headlight lens and coal load are already installed. The drivers came as bare brass from United, but a previous owner had the driver tires plated. It's a beautiful early PFM piece that runs smoothly and quietly. This vintage model train is in C - 6 Very Good condition. It has moderate wheel wear with some plating wearing through. The motor/gearbox noise is at a moderate level (5 out of 10). It runs well, though it's a slower model like most articulated locomotives. It features an Open Frame Motor (OFM), no backhead detail, and very good custom paint with the road number 1820. It uses analog - DC only control and has no lighting. There are Kadee couplers on both the locomotive pilot and tender, with trip pins removed. It comes only in the original box. We offer free domestic USA shipping for all purchases over $199. Using this model train is easy. First, make sure you have an appropriate analog - DC power source. Connect the train to the power source and turn it on. You can control its speed by adjusting the power output. When handling the train, be gentle as it's a fragile item. For maintenance, regularly check the wheels for wear and clean them gently to ensure smooth running. If you notice any loose parts, handle them carefully and consider having them fixed by a professional. When storing the train, keep it in its original box to protect it from dust and damage. Also, make sure to store it in a dry place to prevent rusting. When shipping, we've packed it well, but still handle it with care during transit. If you have any issues with the train, contact us, and we'll do our best to help you out.
