This is a 1963 or 1964 model of HO scale brass train, imported by Akane from Japan. The box has only minimal shelf wear and most of the original packing materials are included. The mechanical part has been serviced: the old gearbox grease was cleaned out and replaced, and a new drive tube was installed between the motor and the gearbox. It's a solid model. Although there's a design problem causing inconsistent contact between the worm gear and drive gear, it still runs well and is rated C - 5 Good. The wheel wear is minimal and the gearbox noise is quite low (5 out of 10). It has an Open Frame Motor (OFM), no backhead/interior detail, and is unpainted with minimal tarnish. It uses analog - DC only control, has no lighting, and comes with horn hook couplers on the engine and tender. It's packed in the original box.
